On Saturday 7th June, choir members from across the area joined together in Holy Trinity Church, Wentworth to ‘come and sing Mozart Requiem’ under the expert direction of Robert Webb, RSCM Sheffield & S. Yorks Education and Training Officer and Director of Music at St. John’s Ranmoor, Sheffield

During the afternoon rehearsal, Robert deftly put us through our paces, ably accompanied by Derek Grover on the organ. After enjoying a picnic tea in the beautiful grounds of Holy Trinity, the choir gave a liturgical performance of the Requiem interspersed with Bible readings and prayers.

If you missed this event, you now have the opportunity to ‘come and sing Mozart Requiem’ again! On Sunday 2nd November at St John’s Church, Ranmoor, Robert will be directing a similar rehearsal at 3.30 pm followed by an Evening All Souls Memorial Service at 6.30 pm. Why not come and join members of the St John’s Choir and RSCM members from across the region for an equally memorable service.

The performance with Roger and his company of soloists and dancers will take place at the Victoria Hall, Sheffield on Friday 21st November at 7.30 pm

We shall explore a variety of music, some familiar, some new,
especially suitable for congregational singing and small choirs.

Particularly designed to encourage young organists,
and pianists who find themselves ‘seated one day at the organ’!

‘Season by Season’ - An Introduction to the new RSCM photocopiable resource with John Barnard one of the compilers of this new volume

‘Season by Season’ is due to be published in August 2008, and picks up where the RSCM Carol Book left off.

Roger will be conducting and bringing his company of soloists and dancers. The choir will be made up of singers from across the city.
