Heather Morris was appointed as Diocesan Director of Education at the beginning of 2008 and now leads the Diocesan work with schools across the region.

• Visits provide pastoral and professional support for headteachers, staff and governors
• Support for the development of Religious Education, Collective Worship and the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development of all pupils
• Representation: - Schools Forum - Admission Forum - SACRE - Overview and Scrutiny Committee
• Involvement in the appointment of Head Teachers and Deputy Heads
• Relationships with the local church are important; mutual respect, clear understanding of each others roles and co-operative working are essential
• The Diocesan Church School Family for mutual support and networking
• Professional dialogue with LA officers through regular meetings and contact
