Communication Matters
posted: Tuesday 27 September 2005

Communication MattersParishes in the Rotherham Deanery will be urged to put communication at the top of their agenda - when Rob Marshall, Communications Advisor to the Diocese of Sheffield, addresses the Deanery Chapter on Tuesday 27th September.

Speaking at St.John’s, Kimberworth Park in Rotherham, Rob (pictured) will explain why Bishop Jack and his senior team have set up a media office, revamped the website, overhauled the Sheffield Diocesan News and produced a tabloid newspaper which recently reached over 25,000 members.

"But it is also about parishes taking their noticeboards and magazines, not to mention their websites, much more seriously," added Rob.

The clergy in the Deanery Chapter will have the chance to reflect theologically on the message of the Church in an electronic, media-driven age.

Rob is a regular presenter of BBC Radio 4's Thought for the Day and, before joining Bishop Jack’s team, was Media Advisor to the Archbishop of York.
