Rice For Dinner
posted: Monday 13 June 2005

Rice for DinnerA rice picnic on Devonsire Green has been organised for the G8 Justice Ministers to attend on Thursday 16th June (19.30).

Senior ministers from Britain, US, Russia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan are meeting in Sheffield this week and organisers are asking the ministers to join to sample 'a simple meal like billions eat every night'.

With or without the ministers, it's set to be one of the biggest protests Sheffield has seen in recent times, and people are encouraged to come and join.

Weather allowing, organisers are hoping to get at least 2000 people down to Devonshire Green, a large grassy area in the city centre where musicians will provide entertainment.

As many people as possible are needed so if you live in reasonable travelling distance, or know of anyone who does, please do all you can.
